TO

   ALAN MEYER'S
            COMPANION LOVER

To be her companion lover

Is devoutly to be wished

Her dancing eyes

Her laughing voice

Her skirt's gentle swish

I told her I was speechless

At her first hello

Her vibrant aura

Her gentle grace

Her smile set me aglow

Like a little boy

On Christmas morn

Coming down to find

The tree all lit

And underneath

In a shimmering mound

All the presents he could wish to see

Now having found this precious joy

Not based on sexual lust

There appears within my mind

A devil made of dust

This devil's sport is to feed the seeds

Of doubt and uncertainty

The fear of losing what's been found

And rejection completely

When we spoke for the first time

I'd said quite plainly

That all I sought was a platonic friend

It was stated unequivocally

Yet even then

As we spoke that time

Deep inside of me

Stirred deeper feelings

Long forgot

Of soul loves unity

Is this a dream from the twilight?

How does she feel about me?

Is this a phantom image?

Or substance deeper than the sea?

She knows that I am tangled

In a poisonous web

A karmic union to be resolved

An abusive marital bed

I fear that because of this

She may not wait for me

While I continue to free myself

But thus I pledge to thee

I shall not break the bond of trust

I shall not dash the dream

I shall not lie for cardinal lust

One day I will be free

And yet...

Why should she trust me?

Why should she believe me?

Why should she dream with me?

The answer lies within

And this I cannot change

Even if I cry

Even if I plead

Even if I beg

Even if...
ONE OF ONE

men

create

dictate

relate

through the abstracts of their minds

women

create

relegate

relate

from the depths of their hearts

we need

to demand

to understand

the underlying strand

that men are women are men are women

one of one

at the source

though we may walk a different course

BODY, MIND AND SOUL

Body is mind

Mind is soul

And one soul is but a part of the whole

Which is one

Oak and acorn

Maple and key

Open the doors of understanding

About me.
