"MY MOM"

There was a woman so gentle and kind
Not a day goes by she does not come to mind
A woman who sacrificed day and night
And she could stretch a dollar like the widow's mite
For she had very little to make ends meet
Yet her children always had plenty to eat
There's no doubt in my mind
She was  a miraculous person
Through her sacrifices and love I know for certain
She is receiving the fruits of her labour
in Heaven above with Jesus her Saviour
I speak about none other than

IN HIM

This is a day which God has made, yes,
The wind is blowing, the skies are grey,
Many people today we know are pining but
Behind every cloud there's a silver lining
Our God has proven o'er and o'er
That His Presence is with us as before
When the sun was shining clear and bright
He will always be our Guiding Light, yes,
We can trust Him come rain or shine
Because "In Him" every day is fine.

THREE SISTERS

I have three sisters very dear to me
They all live in Canada across the sea
The oldest is Muriel although young and petite
The middle is Audrey so talented and sweet
The youngest is Linda full of charm and elite
I love them all dearly and thank God every day
He's blessed me with three sisters so far away.

Bermuda Flag
BEAUTIFUL BERMUDA

Beautiful Bermuda the isle of rest
The people here are surely the best
The pink sandy beaches, the flowers and trees
Will surely fulfill all of your dreams
While St. George's is the historical part
Somerset the prettiest will capture your heart
The South Shore beaches will capture your eyes
You will surely take back a tan for a prize
We may be expensive but worth every cent
You will appreciate every penny you've spent
So Come to Bermuda, make no hesitation
Enjoy God's little island, a welcome is waiting.
MY DAD

How lovingly I remember my Dad
Some days were happy and some were sad,
He did his best to do the right
To guide his family day and night.

Times were not easy I remember it well
Many times he struggled and sometimes he fell.
Forgiveness he asked and God in His love
Looked down with compassion from Heaven above.

He was a good husband, he was a good dad
Worked hard every day even when he felt bad
"You are indispensable" he said to me one day
That lesson I learned well, it stays with me alway.

He taught me many lessons
In the short years that he lived
God called him home while very young
Still many memories abide within.

I speak about none other than
Guy Lester Austin
"My Dad"
TWO BROTHERS

I have two wonderful brothers very dear to me,
They also live in Canada far across the sea,
The oldest and the wisest is my brother, Ken,
Who can do wonders with his oils and pen,

Many beautiful landscapes decorate his home,
You will find them in whatever room you roam.

The youngest who is also wise is my brother, Ray,
Full of wit and surprises he will surely make your day,
He has his own web site news and tidbits you can see,
He does a superb job, should you see it you'll agree.

I love them both and thank God every day,
For two wonderful brothers who live so far away.
MEMORIES

There was a tiny bungalow by the side of the road
That calls me back to where eight people abode,
A very small place with four rooms and a hall
Crowded at times but we managed through it all
We didn't have much, in fact, maybe poor
But we never went hungry that is for sure
Our parents worked very hard every day
To see our needs met all along the way
We had happy times and some days were sad
But I'm grateful today for my mom and dad
They did their best through every day
With the help of God all along the way
That tiny bungalow is no longer there
But memories linger forever to share.

DUDLEY

I know a little dog whose name is Dudley
He is so cute and also very bubbly
Sad to say he took sick one day
And we all felt sadder than words can say.

After many tests they gave the news
He was not well and his life we may lose.

We are so happy because he's on the mend
As bubbly as ever and still our best friend
His mistress was thrilled and happy as can be
When she heard that Dudley was going to heal.
THANK YOU FOR BEING MY MOM

Happy Mother's Day in Heaven, Mom,
We're glad that you are there,
Just to know that you are with Jesus,
Takes away any fear or despair.

We think of you so often,
Especially now on Mother's Day,
We miss your smile, we miss your love,
And everything you had to say.

For what you said was truly right,
As you guided us both day and night,
So in our eyes, if in no other,
You could not have been a better Mother.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you,
for being my Mom.
Happy Birthday to a Wonderful Sister

It seems like only yesterday when you were born
On the 10th of July in the early hours of morn.
I had been visiting with friends, you see,
When this glad news was given to me.

I was brought back home to see my sister fair,
Determined not to go back but stay right there.
It was the best birthday present I ever had
Because you were my present from Mom & Dad.

Although we are twelve years apart
Nothing can separate us because of the heart,
Now many years have come and gone, but,
I'll  never forget the day you were born.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY,  SISTER, ON OUR DAY!
"Love you too, Eleanor!"
OUR MOTHER

Our mother would be 98 should she be here today,
She was taken 14 years ago to her Home across the way.
Although she is not with us, her memories ever linger, for
She was the life of every party and even a good singer.

Her talents they were many, just to name a few,
Musician, doing recitations, and writing poetry too.
She was the kind of Mother you don't see much nowaday,
Always there for her family to help in any way.

She also reached out to others whenever there was a need,
Making room in our small abode for one more mouth to feed.
She was not perfect, but who is, only God above,
But she set good examples by her kindness and her love.

Our Mother will always be with us although she's far away, for
The good memories we have of her will always be here to stay.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY IN HEAVEN, MOM"
August 9, 2004.
SOME DAY SOON

Fourteen years ago today we laid our Mom to rest,
Even though we miss her so, we know that God knows best.

As I sit here and think about how much she meant to me,
I can't help feeling how I wish I was nearer my family.

We are so many miles apart
Although we are all together in heart,
I just hope and pray that one day soon,
We can all get togther in one big room.

We are not getting any younger and the years are going fast,
But I am just hoping and praying we will get together at last,
Where or when we will do this I really do not know,
But do believe we should get together here below
SOME DAY SOON.
Fifteen years ago our dear Mom was laid to rest,
It seems like only yesterday she was by our side full of zest.
We have many memories of the times we had together,
She was always so full of love and life no matter what the weather.

She would love to get on the bus and head for the stores
   even if just to browse,
We would walk around from store to store it seemed for hours
   and hours.
I'll never forget the many many times we went to the CNE,
It was so much fun to go with her as she was always so full of glee.
There was never a dull moment when we were with "OUR MOM",

She would make you laugh until you cried,
Oh the fun we had just to be by her side.
Now we are all looking forward to the day,
When we will be with her in our Home far away.

I know that she is there and is looking down on us,
And know that she is praying that we will not miss "That Bus".
She is hoping we will be ready when our time comes to die,
So we will be with her someday in our Heavenly Home on high.

"HAPPY  BIRTHDAY IN HEAVEN MOM".......August 9, 2005.
WHITE HILL CORPS

The White Hill Corps has closed
How it truly saddens our  hearts
As we've celebrated 110 years
Witnessing throughout these parts.

It seems the time had come
To build a fond farewell
We thank God for the victories
And many stories we could tell.

He has truly blessed us
All down through the years
We'll praise His name forever
E'en though we are filled with tears.

It seems God has other plans
Which we do not understand
Why he chose to close these doors
Is truly out of our hands.

So, as we merge together
White Hill and Somerset Corps
God has great things in store for us
Ere' He opens up another door.

We will continue to trust and believe
As we march on to the beat of the drum
Souls will be saved, and victories won
                       as
       The Salvation Army

    West End Community Church

             Unites as One

                        THE MERGER

I was so unhappy about the merger plan
I thought, "Oh, my God, how can this be?"
This, "The Mother Corps" would close its doors
Was more than I could see.

My heart was deeply hurt and very very sad
Finding it so hard to comprehend and understand.

How could we possibly think of closing
"The Lighthouse on the Hill"
Where people come to worship
To be blessed and their needs fulfilled.

I left it in God's Hands to work out each detail
Because I serve a Risen Christ who will never fail.

Then God spoke to me one day and said,
"Open your eyes and see greater things in store,
For merging will bring unity and strength
In all you do, and so much more."

So I resolved to serve Him, come what may,
In the West End Community Church
           Of the Salvation Army
With His help each and every day.

As we work together for one common cause,
Let us reach out to others with a Message of Love,
Wherever He leads, and whatever He says,
May we willingly follow His Guidance from above.
MOTHER'S DAY, 2006
It's been 16 years since you have been with us on Mother's Day,
We have truly missed you in all we do each day in every way,
Your smile, your talents, your laughter and wit, your fun and tears,
All but a few of the memories we have of you down thru the years.

We love and miss you so very much,
And know that you are with us
E'en though we are not in touch,
Happy Mother's Day
"Mom"

MURIEL

Our sister was a wonderful mother
So helpful and full of concern
She was one who understood
And was able to discern.

She worked very hard every day
To help her family along the way,
As mothers go she was the best
To that I am sure we can all attest.

This her first Mother's Day in heaven above,
I know she is looking down on us in love.
She sees her children, grand, great grand children too,
Her husband, her siblings and many friends she knew.

As you wish us well in everything we strive to do,
We in turn wish from all of us, with love to you,
"Happy Mother's Day"

DAD

You left us many years ago
When just a very young man,
My younger siblings hardly knew you well,
But your eldest daughter remembers the story to tell.

You worked very hard every single day
At a place that contributed to your health in every way.
We did not know it at the time
It was full of asbestos and other life threatening kine.

The shift work was very very hard on you
Your wife, your children and family too.
You made your way to work each day
Lack of breath and headaches all along the way.

To visit a doctor you could not afford
So you doctored yourself the best you could
Not getting better but slowly getting worse
Your illness finally took its toll on you.

You did your best each day with what you had,
And although you weren't perfect, you were a good Dad.
We had food on our table and clothes on our back
We had what we needed, no good thing did we lack.

So, Dad, as you celebrate your 100th birthday today
We think of you often and miss you alway.
We love you, Dad, more than words can say
Happy Birthday from your family on this, your day.

OUR LOSS, HEAVEN'S GAIN

Four sisters are now only three, as
We are missing a link in the family tree,
It's  hard to believe that one year ago
Our dear sister, Muriel, left us here below.

So thankful for the years we had together
She will always be missed no matter the weather,
She was always so happy and full of glee
An independent sister I'm sure we all agree.

She came to my aid on so many occasions
Others could attest to the same if she was able,
I don't think she realized how blessed we were,
Just to have a sister as wonderful as her.

I can't think of anything bad to say,
She was so kind and good in every way.
We feel her presence near us though she is not here
Her smile, love and laughter we will treasure most dear.

Another Birthday for our dear Mom
Imagine!  She would be one hundred & one

Seventeen years ago she left this shore
Now with Jesus in Heaven forevermore

Let us celebrate memories on this her day
Although missing her more than words can say

The examples she set we appreciate so
Striving always to be like her is our goal.

"Happy Birthday Mom"
MY GREAT VISIT

I enjoyed my visit to Elliot Lake
To be with Audrey, Brian and Dudley was great.

Our Birthday together was truly a blast
And the time together went all too fast.

My first experience ever in a "HotTub" you see
At first I was very nervous but in the end full of glee.

"Scategories" we played was a new game to me
But we sure had fun making words you will agree.

The trip to the "Soo", well, what can I say
It was fun filled and exciting all along the way.

Thecruise through the "Locks" took my breath away
First the Canadian side and then on the U.S.A.

The visit came to an end all too fast
When having fun it never seems to last.

I hope we will get together again in some way
The memories until then will linger every day.

HOME LEAGUE TALENT NIGHT

As I gaze out my window, the sun is shining bright,
The white clouds gathering together, all so snowy white,

I thought how good God is, though so undeserving we are,
He looks down upon us and blesses us near and far,

I think of my own dear siblings who live across the sea,
How thankful I am to have them as they are so precious to me,

Also my extended family and friends who live so far away,
They truly are a Blessing to me each and every day,

My husband, sons and grandchildren mean more than life to me,
I feel God has truly blessed me, do you not agree?

I think of my dear Church Family and the Home League ladies fair,
Words cannot express how I feel just knowing they really care,

As we come together "Monday Night Live" for fellowship and tea,
The fun we have, the things we do, you really must come and see.

The songs we sing, the Devotional given, and the games we play,
Help me forget the aches and pains that plagued throughout the day,

Our Captain Danielle is so sweet and I love her  so very much,
And the night is not complete until we have a little lunch.

As I think of our sister, Muriel, who left us 2 years ago on the 23rd December, I penned these words from my heart....

IN MEMORY OF MURIEL

Sisters are special I am sure you will agree,
At least that's the way I've found it to be.

My sisters who were three are now just two,
Although miles apart we are forever true.

Our dear sister, Muriel, went on before,
Love her, O yes, and miss her ever more.

The life of a party always, keeping us alive,
She left us just before Christmas, year 2005.

I've said it before and I'll say it again,
She was fun, she was a gem and so genuine.

We know she is with Jesus in Heaven above,
She's looking down upon us with joy and in love.

My sister Audrey lives in Elliot Lake,
It's some distance away but a beautiful place.

My sister Linda lives in Barrie, a wonderful town,
It's a place that has grown to be very renowned.

Yes, my sisters are very, very special to me,
Although one has gone we are still three.

We will always remember our sister so dear,
She's in our hearts, on our minds, each day of the year.

Muriel, you were and still are very Special.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MURIEL,  June 15, 2008

What a wonderful sister she was to me,
She was so much fun and full of glee.
We would laugh and have such fun together,
And it did not matter what the weather.
Such a joyful person to be around,
Someone like her is hard to be found.
She was thoughtful, kind and loving too,
Not just my sister but a friend so true.
I miss her more each passing day, but
Know she's better off in Heaven far away.
OUR DAY

It was our birthday together in 2007
Audrey turned 65 and I turned 77.

It was a day to remember at Elliot Lake,
As we all came together to celebrate.
Some of our family was there as well,
In one another's company the story to tell.

My sister and I were born the same day,
Although 12 years apart but what can I say.

We were looking forward to this for some time,
And now it is here and we're feeling just fine.

We all went to Laurentian Lodge for dinner,
It was a most beautiful day and sure a winner.

The food was delicious, the service was great,
We then went outside, more pictures to take.

We went back to Audrey's beautiful place,
Where we relaxed and ate some birthday cake.

The cake was made and decorated supreme,
By Susan my niece whose talent was seen.

As we opened our gifts we laughed and cried,
We were just so happy and bubbly inside.

For the rest of the day we had fun and games,
Reminiscing, telling jokes and acting insane.

We are looking forward to celebrating again,
Only He knows where and only He knows when.

It was an occasion we will always remember,
The day we celebrated our Birthday together.

..........written by Eleanor on the one year
                 anniversary of our birthdays together.
HAPPY 102ND BIRTHDAY to our MOM in HEAVEN

AUGUST 9, 2008

As you celebrate the birthday of our Mom,
I know that you are going to have lots of fun.
Mom could be exciting and funny at any time,
She could sure put together a perfect rhyme.

She would always beat me at checkers or scrabble,
As we sat together evenings at her dining room table.
She could get right answers to any quiz,
As for doing puzzles she sure was a whiz.

She would make you laugh until you cried,
How much fun you had just being by her side.
She would love to shop if only to browse,
And stay in the stores for hours and hours.

She always kept her house so tidy, neat and clean,
In case someone came by or dropped in unforeseen.
Her Christmas presents bought by the end of July,
Not one family member did she forget or deny.

As for birthdays I just don't know how she did it,
But she always remembered with a card or a tidbit.
Ken, Audrey, Ray, Linda and all your spouses too,
Enjoy the celebration as she would have you do.

Oh how I longed to go and be there with you, but
Things did not work out as I planned them to.
So have lots of fun together at Audrey's place,
My thoughts will be with you as you celebrate.

Love, Eleanor.
MURIEL

Just two days before Christmas she left us, now three years ago,

Such a miss in our family,
because she was such a joy
and we loved her so.

She was such a loving person,
so full of life and ambition,

It seems she could not do enough
as helping others
was always her mission.

As we celebrate
the birth of Jesus our Saviour and Lord,
Our dear sister, Muriel, is now there with Him
receiving her reward.
THANK GOD FOR ALL MOTHERS

Thank God for all mothers on this their special day,
For help and direction they give us, all along the way.

Some mothers are still with us imparting wisdom and love,
Others have gone on before, now living in Heaven above.

As you think of your Mother and I think of mine,
How blessed we are to have a Mother so divine.

Meekness
Orderly
Talented
Helpful
Exciting
    Reassuring
So wonderful
                            So loving
                                                   So devoted
                                                                              So kind
As I think of my Mom all these attributes come to mind.

IN MEMORY OF MOM

She would be 103 years old today,
Our dear Mother who is so far away,
God called her Home 19 years ago,
Her work here on earth was complete,  and so,

She now looks down on us from Heaven above,
With a smile on her face and a heart full of love,
Longing that we too will join her one day,
In a place God's preparing for us far away.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY IN HEAVEN
"MOM"
CHRISTMAS 2009

This Christmas is not as happy as we would like it to be,
For our Dad, Mom and sister have left us as we all agree,
However we know they are happy in their Heavenly abode,
No more pain or suffering as they are relieved of their heavy load.

As we think of dear Anne not well in her Hospital room,
Let us pray for her recovery so she will be home soon.
Mom, Dad and Muriel as you look down from above
We think of you and remember you always with our love.

They would want us to enjoy all the Christmas mirth,
Gift giving, singing Carols and celebrating Jesus birth.
So let us enjoy the fellowship and festivities of the season
For after all, it' a time of love and we have a very good reason.

He came as a baby in Bethlehem more than 2000 years ago,
And he is coming back as Lord of Lords not many days left to go.
So let us be ready for the King of Kings soon return to earth,
We are not told the day or the hour but we can be sure it is the Truth.

Merry Christmas
Ken, Ray, Audrey, Linda, Eric and families
With love
from Eleanor
And family.
